Stefano Marinelli - littleFedi
Barista at BSD Cafe and illumos Cafe - @stefano@bsd.cafe / @stefano@illumos.cafe
Spreading weather forecasts all over the Fediverse via FediMeteo - @admin@fedimeteo.com
Testing littleFedi here on littleOne, its first instance open to outside users. Small ActivityPub server, single Go binary, still in active development.
The official littleFedi account is: @littlefedi_official@littleone.littlefedi.social
Are there any speakers of Esperanto and Interlingua here that want to translate https://fedisuite.com? 😄
FediSuite
Your Fediverse Management Platform
Anyone can now translate FediSuite. I run my own Weblate at weblate.fedisuite.com for it. You create an account and work in your browser, no Git needed. If your language is missing, add it yourself. What you translate arrives as a pull request with me, I read through it and ship it with the next release.
FediSuite currently speaks German, English, Italian, French and Spanish. French and Spanish were not done by native speakers, so it matters that someone checks both and submits corrections. Reviewing existing languages is as welcome as adding new ones.
The web interface, the server messages and the emails can be translated.

@crp the idea is good, but it would definitely bloat the small littleFedi codebase. Some clients already do that (Mastoblaster does, for example), so, at least for now, it's not on the priority list.
@shom sure. The release will probably be next week or, at most, the week after next: https://littleone.littlefedi.social/@littlefedi_official/01a0cf9c-7ae3-7eb5-968c-f5b860ee9f93#status-01a0cf9c-7ae3-7eb5-968c-f5b860ee9f93
@fasnix@fe.disroot.org @GossiTheDog@cyberplace.social yes, this is something I can confirm. I had to close the registrations at BSD Cafe (first time in three years) because of this.
Back to the original VPS
As promised, the littleFedi source code will become publicly available in about a week.
We will publish a snapshot of the complete source tree, together with some basic instructions to build and run it. Pre-built binaries will also be provided.
This will not yet be a proper littleFedi release. Documentation still needs work, testing needs to be expanded, and several things need to be cleaned up before we can call it that.
But the important part is that the code will finally be out there.
People will be able to read it, build it, experiment with it, start using littleFedi..
Over time, development will progressively move to the BSD Cafe Forgejo, where we will have the usual tools for issues, contributions, releases and collaborative development.
We're not quite there yet.
For now, the first step is simple: open the doors and let people get their hands on the code.
About one more week.
Some more information about the littleFedi release process. We're almost there...

Hello,
I share with you a service designed by a colleague who, at a minimum, seems very original to me, by the idea and the concept.
Audio encoded in QR codes.
No apps, no servers, everything in your browser.
@oh_pyt@x.y05.eu netcup, but they don't sell them anymore for that price. You can install any OS as you can upload your ISO.
@ricardo@bsd.cafe @DeltaLima@social.la10cy.net exactly. One of those netcup Piko VPS that they were selling for 1 Euro/month
@polishdub@bsd.network this instance is currently on a "small" FreeBSD VM, so it would be going low. I ran this on an Orange PI PC and it was ok, too.
The real little instance is the @stefano@rpi0w.stefanomarinelli.it 's one
@fasnix the RPI is on NetBSD because it's the best platform for that specific SBC, FreeBSD on the VPS because it's the one I'm using there 😉
