As I sit here, already sticky and sweating before the sun has even risen to punish us again for another day, I am looking at the weather in Juneau, Alaska. 10 days of rain and low 40s is probably miserable, but I could go for some of that right now.
One silver lining to this heat wave is that the mosquitoes don't like it when it's 100+ either, and the usual clouds of them that hover outside my doors and windows waiting for a chance to get in and pester me are much thinner.
@MLE_online this is why I stay in the midwest. Seasons exchange hot misery for cold misery frequently enough that you always have the opposite thing to look forward to
@MLE_online @ferrix This is a sentiment that’s surprisingly uncommon in Los Angeles. I’d love an excuse to wear long sleeves.
@AnachronistJohn @ferrix Most people are dumb. They complain about how hot it is, but then as soon as it rains, they are immediately complaining about that.
@MLE_online @AnachronistJohn complex life evolved for millions of years to fill every ecosystem niche on the planet and complain about the weather in it
I'm in the tropics; *we reached 40° Celsius today again* We started at 23° Celsius.
This happened the eight time in six weeks.
I'm grateful I learned at a young age to manage & protect my body at temperatures between 15° Celsius and 45° Celsius even though we never reached the latter here.
People need to learn to be grateful and complain less about the weather.

@MLE_online we had cloudy air pollution yesterday that at least blotted the direct sun. Alas, the sky looks clear already today. :(
@zackstern We did not have that here. Sun beams were blasting down with ferocity from sunup to sundown
@MLE_online having escaped Texas, I'm enjoying the cool days, cold nights, and changing leaf colors of autumn. My friends back in Dallas were celebrating the dip below 100F...
