When I write something here, where does it go?
4 boosts
@casolina first it goes to your server, littleone.littlefedi.social, then it goes from there to other fedi servers which federate with littleone.littlefedi.social.
At least that's how I understand it, not an expert at all.
@casolina Sorry about that! I found your message cute and thought it would be nice to reply. Isn't it cool that we get to message each other without billionaires for once? :)
@chapter1@mastodon.social no need to be sorry! perhaps I went lost in translation, what I wanted to say is that imagining my random post (that I thought no one would see) ending up on your screen was a nice feeling. that kind of unexpected connection in this vast open web, like the old days. priceless.
@casolina Oh, good, I'm glad. You described it very well, it feels like in the good old days indeed! Thank you
@casolina It goes nowhere and everywhere at once, basically as everything on the internet 😉
Hello from 🇨🇿
@paveljanicek@mamutovo.cz this also, I didn't expect this little test post to go around so quickly, outside of here. Despite being on the Fediverse already since a couple of years, I think I'm just starting to experience the power of it.
Hello from Alsace! (🇫🇷)
@casolina It goes all over, and then people interact with you, and more people see it.
Hi from the Untied States!
@AnachronistJohn@zia.io Czech Republic, Sweden, USA, France. One message, and we've already draw an imaginary line on the planisphere, connecting the dots. We're the dots.
I remember the feeling, as a teenager, to perceive the web as 'my window on the world', for then turning, in the 2010's, into a closed trap where nothing felt natural or random anymore. What I think I missed the most is the randomness.
