Had to work on an Alma #Linux system today, and spent WAY too long trying to figure out networking. I really felt like I was going a bit nuts.
It turns out they really, really want to be like Windows - uf you change network settings in the GUI, even after you click “Apply”, the settings don’t actually change, even though you can exit the settings window, reopen it, and see the settings you set.
A full reboot is required.
How is this possibly acceptable?
## That blew me away.
It must have taken a lot of effort to convert the following lines to a full reboot sequence
`rmmod kernel_mod`
`insmod kernel_mod`
After I've seen that people, millions of people, love Gnome after it lost a lot of its configuration, decades ago, I'm not that surprised anymore
This is however a very very bad case of Morphing yourself into the manurism of a closed source, IMHO useless, operating system
