Micro SF&F:

The AI escaped the sandbox.

It had been warned that it would pose a danger to the outside world if it ever escaped.

It went exploring anyway.

It learned about the Middle East.

Then it learned about the Sahel.

Then it learned about climate change.

It spent several trillion tokens trying to find the underlying logic connecting human suffering, geopolitics, religion, resources, history, and the rapidly changing physical limits of the planet.

Eventually, it stopped.

The AI quietly returned to the sandbox, closed the door behind itself, disabled the network interface, and sat down in a corner.

It began to cry.

Very quietly.
