@b0rk@jvns.ca @wollman@mastodon.social Most of the new ssh users I meet are undergraduate or graduate students who use it to interact with the HPC centers where they do their calculations and transfer the results to their computers. Windows users use Winscp for transfers and Mobaxterm for interactive connections, Linux users primarily use ssh and sftp and occasionally ssh-keygen when charged by sys admins. The rest of the features available in OpenSSH are rarely used and only by the most interested students. Everyone receives some training or instruction from HPC centers when they open their accounts.
