TIL the Spanish verb "claudicar", for "giving up"/"surrendering" etc. – and that feels like the perfect word to describe what happens when developers use Claude to "write" their software. Instead of Enshittification, it's Claudication.
@gedankenstuecke@scholar.social Agree.
In Portuguese, the word *claudicar* also exists, but its meaning leans more heavily toward failing or faltering. "The baker 'claudicou' in the purchase calculation"; "Grandpa walks 'claudicando'". The verb *claudicar* is perfect for software written with Claude.
