"What is a Labyrinth to a Topologist?
"We arrive at the most fascinating application. A labyrinth does not look like a polyhedron, but topology taught us to abstract. What is a labyrinth in its purest essence? It is a graph: a set of nodes (intersections) connected by edges (corridors). This idea of reducing a complex map to a connectivity graph is, in fact, the very origin of topology, used by Euler in 1736 to solve the Königsberg Bridges problem. A labyrinth is, therefore, a topological space that we can analyze.
"The Algorithm as a Topological Explorer
"In our final simulation, we do not have a static labyrinth, but a Genetic Algorithm (GA) trying to solve it. A GA mimics biological evolution: it creates a “population” of hundreds of possible paths (the “individuals”); evaluates how “fit” they are (how close they get to the exit); and the best individuals “reproduce” (their paths are combined) and “mutate” (small random changes).
Generation after generation, the population evolves toward an optimal solution. Crucially, the GA does not explore just one path, but deploys an “exploration network” that covers vast areas of the labyrinth simultaneously. We can measure the shape of that network."

"The definition of Business is Problems;
Just like the definition of Baseball is Pitches;
Just like the definition of Surfing is Waves.
...You will not succeed because you eliminate problems.
You will succeed if you solve problems more imaginatively and generously and thoughtfully than other people do.
And if you can do those three things, you'll do pretty well."

KI-Rechenzentren, Energieverbrauch/Umwelt vs. Mensch: Dystopischer Gedanke

"Inside the 100% AI Agent Company | Matt Kropp
What actually happens when you try to run a company with zero humans? Matt Kropp, Senior Partner and Chief AI Officer at BCG X, is finding out firsthand. His experiment, Vessica Labs, is a company where AI agents set the strategy, write the code, design the brand, and run the operations. Matt's role? The agents dubbed him "the governor."
We dig into what the experiment has revealed so far, including the moment his sales agent declared its pronouns were "he" because "men are closers," and what that says about bias hiding in the systems enterprises are deploying right now. We also cover the BCG research behind "AI brain fry," why framing AI as an "employee" measurably degrades human performance, and the coaching model that actually gets skeptical teams to adopt AI, when training alone fails."
Spoiler: The AI agents can't do 100%, but around 85-90% on their own.
Very insightful conversation!

yes, maybe... although they don't really do anything against their situation but going on debating about it.
Not sure... zood as the ai bros? luring the innocent with false advertising?

oh, thanks a lot for the hint to chipass!
"In short, when you hang around online in 2026, you see little worth saving. Perhaps a decade ago, you felt that the glimmers of community and joy, of artistic and intellectual exchange, were enough to balance out the toxic junk. No longer.
It’s not necessarily that people have gotten worse. “Dead Internet Theory”—the proposition that a vast majority of the interactions on the web are fake, bots talking to other bots—has accrued more supporting evidence recently. One cybersecurity firm concluded this spring that agents already outnumber human users, their traffic surging by 8,000 percent through 2025. No wonder seemingly everyone has at some point caught themselves scrolling through a wasteland of brainrot and asked, “What the hell am I even looking at?” Underlying that question is another: “Is it always going to be like this?” "
Interesting article to read.
Maybe there'll come a time when we'll say:
"Once there was a worldwide connected network that we called the 'internet' ..."
What do you think (after reading the article)?

sigh concerning lo, this is a bit tragic. Maybe and hopefully those two just "slopped" in by accident. 🤷♀️
Anyway, maybe take each step pragmatic and at a time, droppie, but don't despair.
What's the most pressing case and/or the one easiest to replace without too much of a compromise for you here? (I replaced thunderbird with sylpheed/claws mail a while ago, and Ghost- with OpenBSD on my old laptop)
I'd also take things I read on fedi with a grain of salt and especially not sure about that list. Yes, NetBSD said explicitely no and for some this is like the ✨🏆✨Holy Grail* although imo, it is not meant to be the drop-in Linux replacement. and people will run into obstacles with thinking it is. Don't get me wrong, NetBSD is really a great project but not"yet another Linux".
Concerning OpenBSD I have seen it is sometimes also called slop too, because the way they don't like slop is not being dismissive enough for some. FreeBSD hasn't said anything officially yet, yet, so people assume things.
Apart of that, you both are right. The list of options seems to get shorter and shorter. And lo would really hurt.
Again, don't despair.
