"Neurodivergent advocacy in a collapsing society has to extend beyond supporting inclusion in the world as it was. It has to become part of building the forms of life that remain possible as that world begins to fail."
"Masked Twice: Neurodivergent Advocacy in a Collapsing Society
What happens when neurodivergent people are asked to fit into systems that are starting to fail?"

In a way, that's what happens to me, this double masking thing. My main problem is that I see this dysfunction everywhere, and it makes it increasingly difficult for me to live immersed in a world that seems absurd to me. I'm also "neurodivergent," although I won't bore you with my diagnoses.
@crp
It wouldn't bore me, as I have a neurodivergent friend, who's on the autistic spectrum and I learn about it from him (a young trans man).

I was considered quite odd my whole life by everyone who knew me. In 2008, I had a breakdown and a major depressive episode. Then, two years later, in 2010, I was diagnosed with mixed bipolar disorder (I and II), and after several tests, I was also diagnosed with giftedness and a very high IQ. I felt terrible and couldn't believe it. But something still didn't quite add up. In 2018, my granddaughter was born, and in 2020, she was diagnosed with autism. So I went for a professional evaluation, and it turns out I also have autism. It's what they call "twice-exceptionality." The diagnosis brought everything full circle, and I understood many things. It allowed me to find the best way for me to live. In addition to that, I have several other medical conditions, including three autoimmune diseases.

Similar to the friend of mine, who also has a very high IQ.
Unfortunately, he had to experience a unusually violent childhood by his mom (mostly) and by his classmates.
Multiple suicide attempts, PTSD, and in therapy since many years.

It's almost the same as my life. Domestic violence, bullying at school, and various traumas. One can have a high IQ, but if the family environment and socioeconomic conditions are not good, it is difficult to develop that. I had five suicide attempts and dangerous jobs. Even so, I managed to study and do many things. Of course, the price was enormous wear and tear that resulted in autoimmune, gastrointestinal, and neurological diseases. Sometimes I feel like I've lived 120 years compressed into 60.I studied Electronic Engineering, Medicine, and Music. I did many interesting things.
