Sarandon speaks out against #genocide, and gets arrested.

An interesting conflict between a Dutch media creator Roel Maalderink (together with Bits of Freedom) and Meta regarding Meta glasses.
The guy made a video wearing the glasses outside the Meta office in Amsterdam.
The video showed several Meta employees reacting negatively to the glasses, and even asking multiple times if he was filming (showing that even they couldnβt see if the glasses are active.)
Instagram took the video offline, which is the first time this creator had a takedown of one of his videos.
I hope this goes viral beyond The Netherlands.

Well, not really a policy update - but a reiteration of our existing policy. AI content is strictly prohibited. Whether that be AI/LLM generated slop, or content that promotes the use of AI.
We do not make exceptions. Not ever. We have a giant installment of a more-than-human-sized slingshot and will most definitely use it to yeet AI influencers into outer space.

I have a little script running on FreeBSD that retrieves a list of parasites from https://scienceispoetry.net/files/parasites.txt
retrieve it from there, compare last-modified header. if not changed, then stop. otherwise replace a pf table with new contents
saves a lot of scraping
I added a list of User-Agents to my HAproxy to block them

littleFedi is a lightweight, efficient and Mastodon-compatible platform for the Fediverse.
The idea behind it is simple: software should adapt to the machine and the community, not the other way around.
littleFedi can run on modest hardware, but it is not designed only for small machines. The same approach is meant to scale with you, from a tiny personal instance to a larger community.
Our priorities are:
- Efficiency, without unnecessary resource usage
- Simplicity, both for users and administrators
- Interoperability, with the wider Fediverse
- Accessibility, including a usable no-JavaScript baseline
- Control, because your instance should remain yours
- No AI features, no magic black boxes, just predictable software and transparent algorithms
The project is still evolving, and we are deliberately taking the time to test federation, scalability and the rough edges before calling it ready.
