Not really a bug, more something that could be clarified:
In the filter section, you have a language section. The only thing it says is "comma separated".
Not sure what is the best way to do that. Imagine I put finnish, I guess that's ok. but I migth go Suomi instead. Or if I am french speaker, finnois, or if I am a dumb french speaker finlandais.
How will the system react ? wouldn't be less ambiguous with a tick box list ?
I don't really have a solution, mind you, just thinking aloud.
@stefano @francois it doesn't work as expected for me. I used the Match-all-except-option with English and Deutsch, but this post https://troet.cafe/users/Obstturnier/statuses/117138101782517901 got hidden. It's in Deutsch and I have no idea why it got hidden...
@stefano no, it's the same with this one you shared a while ago: https://phpc.social/users/dgoosens/statuses/117133686047360400
I guess they are maybe without any specified language...
@stefano sorry, I didn't even think about testing, just put the settings I liked, which is basically anything but finnish π Will test now
@stefano there seems to be a problem: the preferences are not saved ? All fields are blank any time I go back ???
@daisy @francois "Match all except" deliberately treats an empty/unknown stored language as a match, so these older rows are hidden. Any remote status ingested before language support may be hidden by an inverted language filter, regardless of its actual language.
So it will work "from now on".
@stefano
Ah, oh, sorry, thanks a lot!
(ok i'll wait how it develope. Found a good example in the same thread but hope I'll not need it. π https://freiburg.social/users/stevE/statuses/117138510219194916 ) π€
