littleFedi allows you to hide all posts that have images without alt text.
Because yes, that's how it should be.

@WeirdWriter@caneandable.social this one has a limit of 5000 (no limits for blog posts). But it can be configured by the admins

@stefano would be more interesting to add an option to "describe" the image via some service or another (Gemini etc).

@Nux@fosstodon.org I've implemented it on MastoBlaster, using on device Apple Intelligence, but the result is...terrible, at least for now.

In general, I'd avoid to depend on external services for this: you need to use APIs, etc.

There was once on Mastodon a discussion of blind people around @ altbot and how they don't like "AI" generated Alt-text... Since then I try to do them by myself.
