@pluralistic@mamot.fr This had me wondering the origin of "Mag 7" / Magnificent Seven...
From wikipedia ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Tech#Magnificent_Seven ) :
"The nickname Magnificent Seven was coined in May 2023 by Bank of America analyst Michael Hartnett as a reference to the 1960 film of the same name, and popularized by Jim Cramer on Mad Money."
The 1960 film :
"Wir verwenden Cookies. (...)"
Ganz viele Seiten bräuchten einfach gar keine Cookies.
LOL, nein, geht weg!
Was meint ihr:

@perdido@role.social.br @renata@cosocial.ca In a way that is not relevant here, I was involved in the security of the 1998 elections. The Superior Electoral Court’s (TSE) primary concern was not the tampering of ballot boxes, but rather attacks on the servers that would display the results during the vote count—specifically, the threat of DoS (denial-of-service) attacks. A major task force was established, which even included Embratel. The voting process and the transmission of data from the ballot boxes were already secure back then—28 years ago.
"Das Kleinunternehmen-Starterpaket – Webseite, Infrastruktur und Sichtbarkeit mit KI. Für Soloselbstständige, kleine Teams und Startups.
Offener Kurs (Teilnehmende) — für Soloselbstständige, kleine Teams und Startups."
"Kurzbeschreibung:

"Major hardware failure on storage server!
Due to major hardware failure on our storage server, some of the services are currently offline. We are in the process of rebuilding, which will take quite some time. Until then:
- Email - Access to mailboxes is not possible, we have setup temporary storage to provide access to incoming emails for the time being
- Nextcloud - Files feature has been disabled until the issue is solved, calendars, contacts, chat etc works as normal
- Cryptpad, PrivateBin, Lufi, Forgejo - are disabled until the storage issue is resolved.
We are really sorry for this situation and we will do our best to solve it as soon as possible.
The Disroot Team."
Fotovorschlag: "Aufzug".

".. and then nobody will have a job, ..."
@nixCraft@mastodon.social
This is such a brutal thing. Yes job loss is not nice even if they get some money to exit. The whole IT sector is now a race to the bottom until AI causes a massive job and stock market crash and then nobody will have a job, pensions will be burned out in stock market scams and meanwhile, some of these AI tech bros will have made billions in profits. Well done, Microsoft and every other batshit crazy AI company.
@nixCraft@mastodon.social
Microsoft offers 60,000 employees a voluntary exit 😱 The AI affecting is real in IT sector. This is company’s efforts to cut costs amid AI adoption, per Bloomberg. Personnel on select teams in the US, Canada, India, and the UK at a vice president level and below will be eligible. This reflects ~27% of Microsoft's total workforce https://blogs.microsoft.com/blog/2026/10/26/introducing-a-voluntary-exit-offer/
