Years ago I thought the most of the #Epstein case was a conspiracy, unfortunately it’s more horrific in reality
Some of the worlds most powerful people involved in crimes most of us refused to believe, now that there is some out there and we barely scratch the surface nothing seems to happen
If justice where to mean anything we would do as much as we could to hold them accountable, if stealing a bread ends you up in jail why aren’t we prosecuting the powerful who are a lot worse

I am not feeling very positive about technology today. It seems like the "A.I." companies are willing to kill us all to try and prove that their predictive text child porn machine can do anything truly valuable. These same companies have forced their bullshit into the Linux kernel, and it seems like everyone else has decided that thinking in general is archaic... oh and mastodon5 is butt ugly and barely useable. @stefano I had a friend move from @babe@glitterkitten.co.uk to @babe@duck.rodeo ,and I was notified here, but it still showed the address not the new one. I had to run to mastodon to find out where she went. Not sure if that makes any sense. I may need to re-explain that once my migraine goes away.
@claudiom@bsd.network That is super annoying. The only thing worse than a luser is someone else directing the dipshittery. Although it could be worse. A lot kids in my area didn't get to go to the first day of school at all because of horrific flooding. A big ass section of town had to be evac'd and there were several water rescues going well into the night.
I have been manning the helm of @keepmunseeweird@hoosier.social all day because of the weather. For the most part things just run themselves, but when there is severe weather there is more work to be done.
I've received quite a few questions about the use of AI in and around #littleFedi.
So, after discussing it within the team, we've decided to update the FAQ and make our position clear.
It probably won't come as much of a surprise to those who already know me and the projects I work on. But littleFedi is reaching people who don't know me, or us, and I think it's fair to explain where we stand rather than assume they already know.
The short version: littleFedi doesn't use AI. No ranking models, no recommendation engines, no language models deciding what you see.
The longer answer, including how I approach LLMs and code contributions, is now in the FAQ:

I seem to remember talk of little fedi mesh something or other. I didn't totally understand it at the time but it had some of the key words i like

I am playing with Visual Editor
The first time I ever used an editor like this was in Wordpress approximately 100 years ago.
I was a thinner man back then, less grey, in less pain.
I could often be hear proclaiming:
Who the fuck are you? Why have you been following me around? Is that a camera!? Are you some kind of cop!!?
In a panic I would run :
sudo rm -rf /
in an attempt to destroy all of the evidence of the crimes I had not committed.
This thing appears to be working well and I smell I really appreciate the effort that goes into something like this.
I am not much of a programmer. I studied it once at University and failed out. You can see just how bad it really is on Codeberg.
I am however really good at:
- Breaking things
- trying to do weird stuff
- documenting what I did
- explaining what I thought would happen
- explaining what actually happened
This is important because:
- not every system is the same and software can behave unexpectedly on someone else's computer
- "idk this shit dont work" is a shitty bug

The only thing that was slightly confusing was knowing when to turn the buttons off. I did have to edit the numbered and bulleted lists once because I toggled the button off too early and it unlisted the last item. Not a bug, every visual editor handles that one differently.
