@stefano Yup. I tested out the post pruning settings as well, but saw this service instance has no default value. So it's great that users can set both a default post pruning strategy and override it for individual posts π
@stefano Quoted posts. Just done a quote post. Looked fine on the android mastodon app. On my GoToSocial instance and viewed from the Fedilab Android app, only my quote text showed up. No link.
All the documentation for #LittleFedi is out. Interesting stuff. I have been helping test this project for a couple of weeks and I'm excited. Can't wait for the first beta release
Another step closer to release!
The official website is now live at https://littlefedi.org/ with documentation and project details.
Take a look and let me know what you think!
@andypiper @stefano I had the same problem with tokodon, but I just closed everything (meaning to re-start from scratch) but when I re-opened tokodon the profile was there.
Not sure what conclusion can be drawned from that....
@andypiper thank you for the report! I'll check. I tested it on my other instance and it was working, but maybe it's not stable enough.
@stefano hmm. It allows me through to sign in, but the redirect back into the app does not appear to work - I get Authorization complete, returning you to Ivory, and a link to Ivory (which, if I click, leaves me on the add an account screen).
So I think it's nearly there but not working as expected for me.
Similar issue with Tusker - I can get through the auth steps; it does not autocomplete the redirect at the end, but when I hit the link to open Tusker, it has exchanged the token correctly.
Ice Cubes has an alternative issue - it lets me put the instance uri in to add an account, detects the correct info, but the sign in button does nothing.
@njrk this is because you're replying to a message with local only audience and mastodon apps won't support it. I'll create a sort of "fallback" so it will force them to use the originating audience, even if they set it to "public" or something like that
@tmcfarlane@toot.community GoToSocial is great, I'm very happy with it and totally recommend it.
Re: keys. Yeah it's a mess. Technically you can extract the keys from the old instance and inject them into the new instance... but come on!
I would HIGHLY recommend putting any fedi application on a subdomain instead of the top level domain. Then worst case you can abandon the subdomain and still keep your TLD and try again with another subdomain.
Happy to chat more about my experience as you poke around with GoToSocial.

@tmcfarlane@toot.community they're working towards a MIT license release. Given the driver behind it, Stefano, I am comfortable with it landing soon. I will not host it unless it's open source.
