A clear, shallow river curves through a forested landscape under a bright blue sky. The water reveals smooth stones and pebbles beneath its surface. Gravel banks line the river’s edge, flanked by tall evergreens and leafy deciduous trees in fresh spring green.

@wannabemystiker@expressional.social this is the Calawah River, but for sure it's small and creek-like in some places at the height of the dry season. The river's colors are beautiful, yeah 😍

All the rivers here (the West End of the Olympic Peninsula) are gorgeous, but the Hoh has my favorite colors, ranging from icy-teal to jade-green.

The North Umpqua River (Douglas Co., Oregon), about an hour south of us, has some astounding icy-teal colors in the winter. I don't get to see it very often but it always astounds me.
