@pepdmin at the moment I also self host GoToSocial from home. What I find fascinating about LittleFedi is, as you say, "the prospect of a lighter, more portable and faster implementation". This intrigues me and holds me back from migrating Mastodon to GoToSocial.
@epn4littlefedi I share your initial sentiments on this promising new piece of software. Currently I am already selfhosting a mastodon-instance via @yunohost@toot.aquilenet.fr and that works well enough, but the prospect of a lighter, more portable and faster implementation of the fediverse on my humble raspberry pi is VERY interesting. @epn4littlefedi it will be fine for other littleFedi instances. Not sure about other implementations. We can test it in the future. The change is just one line in the config file.
@stefano I guess any more than 4 and you start losing images/complicating Mastodon api federation as well as the obvious extra overhead on the LittleFedi server
Testing some image uploads from yesterdays river hike. Is there a limit to the number of images you can upload?
I'm looking forward to giving the new #littlefedi instance a good going over in the next few days. Initial thoughts are very promising. It's certainly fast! Would love to be in a position to be able to migrate accounts from my cloud Mastodon instance to a self hosted version of LittleFedi. That's the plan going forward.
