@epn4littlefedi @pluvialgeist I think they have some import scripts in their docs, but I just manually copied my blog over, and updated the image links at the same time as I resized and uploaded them.
I no doubt could have scripted it, but it was nice to manually check each one as I went. And I don't have a ton of posts.
@airikr@mst-gts.airikr.me yeah imap so my usual clients were a must for me, over encryption even. Nothing sent to me is encrypted (I gave up posting my pgp key anywhere) and no one I send emails to has one either.
My wife works in law, and it blows my mind that email is still used unencrypted for these things. Worse, a place she worked at had (before she worked there) had a mishap with a malicious third party intercepting a clients email correspondence.

I have had that before where a service thought I was reachable because I had signed up to it in the past and there was no way to delete an account as far as I could tell. So I just didnt use it anymore, and one would think that if you haven't used their app for some time it should notify the sender, right...? Wrong, apparently.

I checked my Keepass and there are 16 entries tied to an email address they shut down, created 2018 to 2019. Presumably they sent notice to that email, which I checked sporadically because it was only used for things i had signed up to, and because their app was a laggy dumpsterfire at that time so I only used web as required.
Thankfully this pushed me to find Migadu at that time and they have been amazing since. I'm sure Tutanota is great for many folks now, but once burned... never twice.
@colinstu@birdbutt.com i deleted my fb account for this reason (among others), people assume you are available and message there, and I didn't have it on my phone so never got back to them - even people that have my phone number. The solution was to delete my account entirely.

I miss the days of Pidgin and proper old IM protocols. And no smartphone. And having to wake up and get out of bed and boot that all up and settle in.
I hate this expectation that I’m online and accessible 24/7. And that if I didn’t read and/or reply right away I’m somehow ignoring etc… no. I got a life I need to deal with. I’ll get to the conversations when I can.
Now it’s just rollover in bed and see folks pining for attention on TG on phone and if I don’t give it I’m the bad guy. 😭

What they’re picking up instead is electronic leakage from SpaceX satellites.

— analyzed approximately 76 million radio images over 29 days.
The results, published in Astronomy & Astrophysics, are uncomfortable reading.
Researchers catalogued 112,534 individual radio emissions from 1,806 unique Starlink satellites across 73–235 MHz,
the exact frequency range SKA-Low needs.
Some satellites emit periodic 13-kHz tones at roughly 137 MHz every 100 seconds.
These aren’t scheduled downlinks that operators can plan around. They’re unpredictable hardware leakage
— and researchers cannot subtract a signal they cannot model.
Current ITU regulations ignore unintended satellite hardware leakage, leaving astronomers without legal protection.
I will never recommend Tutanota after my free account was deleted for inactivity. Like... isnt that a good thing for a free account? The worst part is I had used it to sign up to stuff, thinking it was a suitable platform, and then I got rug-pulled. Also their client was super slow and laggy and unreliable... one would assume they're better now, but I will never know.
So now I pay for Migadu. I could have paid for Tutanota, but they will never get my money after that.
