@francois Most of it is not my work (more about it when we'll release it), but I'm doing my best to make sure it'll be useful.
@eliastorres @shom yes, exactly, this is what we're thinking about - how to consider the bubble instance, the granularity and scope
Nice, does it make sense to consider adding individual profiles or specific parts of a remote instance?
Like having in the bubble:
- Whole instances https://example.net/
- Specific accounts like https://mathstodon.xyz/@johncarlosbaez
- Remote tags, like https://mastodon.social/tags/CostaRica
To all the friends of this instance - Thank you!
Thanks to you, your usage, and your feedback, you are helping make the project more mature or, at least, mature enough for public release.
Again, thank you!
@eliastorres @shom this is the admin/bubble instances pages of this instance
@eliastorres @shom exactly. That's the point of having bubble instances. The implementation isn't perfect, yet, but we'll work on it.
@eliastorres Totally agree. For now, replacing the go binary and launching it will be enough: it will execute all the needed migrations and run. There's a draft of an auto-update feature but it needs to be reviewed.
Now, as a server admin, I'd like to have an easy upgrade procedure, something I can even automatically fetch from a stable version.
Managing several services for a community is nice, but some of the software pieces are *really* hard to maintain
I see it like keeping up a nice garden, I like a permaculture approach of caring for native plants, it's good and nice to have to work to keep things nice, but not having to do huge amounts of work just for keeping plants alive. I hope this analogy makes sense.
@shom it's similar to the Akkoma bubble concept. In short, the admin can set some "bubble" instances and their posts will be shown in the Bubble timeline. A sort of "close" instances list.
Added the /blogs route, with a list of all the published blogs. It's opt-out, so you can disable it in your settings page: https://littleone.littlefedi.social/blogs
@stefano I haven't understood Bubble yet, that's interesting to hear. Did I miss reading about it in one of your posts?
@shom there's also a plan to improve the bubble timeline, to help people to discover more people without leaving their own instance
@eliastorres thanks:
1) it will work when it'll be available as it already points to a closed repo 😉
2) we're thinking about it
3) nice!
4) good!
5) it's a compromise...but we're evaluating new options
thank you!
More feedback for @stefano now in a Local post, so maybe other users in the same instance see something similar or want to add something:
- "littlefedi" link at the bottom goes to a non existent page
- Going a to timeline shows the compose box first (at least in mobile web) it looks confusing.
- The web interface is fastz crazy fast. I love it.
- The visual editor (work in progress) is very comfortable to use.
- I suspect is not an easy task, but media previews and on browser edition options like cropping, would help a lot too.
@ThePianomanJu@chaos.social
Hm, what about "Lingwa de Planeta"?
Isn't there a certain structure and repeating words recognizable as well?
