@mboelen I've been inserting interesting things in alt text for years, from time to time. But people missed them because they didn't look at the alt text. Having it as a caption under the image is much more elegant, I think.

I read the documentation and it's not very clear on how to actually set it up, what are the commands for setting up the user.

I bake my bread at night before bed—sometimes delaying my bedtime—but I refuse to give up eating bread I’ve made myself. (And it stays mold-free for 3–4 days on average if I keep it in an airtight container.)
@santiago@mastodon.uy @gusdelsur@mastodon.social @sosa Um colega usou IA para converter um código muito útil mas abandonado para C/Fortran/Qt: o OpenDX ou Open Data Explorer que a IBM pôs em opensource e usava padrões antigos de C/Fortran e Motif e estava abandonado no Sourceforge.
Esse é outro uso de IA que considero lícito pois poupa muito 'trabalho braçal'
@santiago@mastodon.uy O meu grupo de pesquisas iniciado em 1975 é praticamente defunto, em breve eu também aposento e sobra só um colega que me seguirá logo depois. Como forma de preservar a memória do grupo eu criei um repositório forgejo de imagens, documentos e programas de computador que contam esses anos todos de 1975 a 2025.
Usei intensamente IA (Google) para extrair programas em Fortran de teses de doutorado em PDF geradas a partir de scan dos originais, o trabalho do IA não foi perfeito mas me poupou horas (dias) de trabalho digitando manualmente os códigos. Agora quero fazer o mesmo com um livro de ópica do Fabry que achei em um sebo e que foi redigido à mão em caligrafia perfeita pelo autor e uma monografia do DoE da tradução do artigo do Placzek sobre o efeito Raman. Em ambos os casos quero gerar PDFs que possam ser depositados no archive.org e outros locais públicos, para não se perderem.
Eu acho esse uso de IA um uso lícito e muito útil.

In Portuguese, the word *claudicar* also exists, but its meaning leans more heavily toward failing or faltering. "The baker 'claudicou' in the purchase calculation"; "Grandpa walks 'claudicando'". The verb *claudicar* is perfect for software written with Claude.

Yes, it's a powerful and feature-rich software.
However, I didn't use all the functionality it offers (static pages, channels, drive, and more) and therefore felt kind of bloated to me.
One functionality I wish for littlefedi to offer would be, being able to select, whether the composition field should be present at all times above the timeline or not.
Would save a lot of screen space if it could be hidden and only shown when one wants to create a post.
