Interesting morning. Sat playing at my laptop and just felt an earthquake. Lasted for 3-4 seconds but ground was moving. A little bit scary but interesting at the same time. 4.8 magnitude about 50km away.

Good morning, do you reckon with littlefedi being a 'stable' software within this year (2026), in order to make this a main account?
Can't wait to fully move to this server, tbh, as I'm unsatisfied with my current main acc (moderation and response to technical flaws).

Atualmente eu penso de forma semelhante ao Bruce Schneier, a IA em si não é o problema, é a associação dela com o capitalismo selvagem que a usa de forma agressiva em todas as frentes: forçando a adoção, servindo à repressão política e à guerra, destruindo o meio ambiente em torno de data centers, etc. Não vejo como mudar isso no curto prazo, vejo a Europa dizendo que vai diminuir a dependência das big-techs mas uma enorme distância entre intenção e gesto e ainda duvido que façam isso.
@b0rk@jvns.ca @wollman@mastodon.social Most of the new ssh users I meet are undergraduate or graduate students who use it to interact with the HPC centers where they do their calculations and transfer the results to their computers. Windows users use Winscp for transfers and Mobaxterm for interactive connections, Linux users primarily use ssh and sftp and occasionally ssh-keygen when charged by sys admins. The rest of the features available in OpenSSH are rarely used and only by the most interested students. Everyone receives some training or instruction from HPC centers when they open their accounts.
@stefano finally got in. Looks like on mobile it wasn't telling me it needed 15 characters, on firefox desktop, I got that error and was able to utilize the install code.

It's always been baffling to me that the bad guys choose symbols that seem bad. (Like the Nazi SS Totenkopf, for instance.) You'd think they'd want to obfuscate their evil shit with symbols that seem good—butterflies and rainbows and whatnot—but no, they're proud enough of what they stand for and what they're doing that they just put it on display for the whole world to see.

Bug report : can't clear attached file.
In a private message with @fasnix , I attached a pdf. The system complained and I re-clicked on attach, thinking that would be the end of it
- well no :-) It kept the pdf in the field and wouldn't send the message.
I ended up substituting the pdf with a picture, since I could not undo the attachment or clear the field :-)
Not sure this is clear, yell if it isn't :-)
@mboelen The team is working, while I've been totally caught by a couple of emergencies. But yes, it's going strong 😉
