@bsdphk@fosstodon.org @slimhazard@mastodon.world I’ve been saying this for years: it is a single party with two wings that diverge on certain points. And the electoral system based on district delegates is a disorganized version of the electoral colleges found in countries like Cuba and China—far removed from what would constitute a full, direct democracy.

(*) I ditched arduinos for ESP32 years ago since pretty much everything I do is net-related, so it's easier to work directly with ESP32 which integrate wifi natively.
I'll make sure my next batch is compatible - don't ask me what i'm going to do, I don't have the slightest idea yet. But I'll certainly do it 😃

@daisy @daisE@sfba.social those filters are coming. They are a part of a branch that hasn't been integrated, yet. We're trying to cherry-pick the filtering part.

@stefano @daisE@sfba.social There are some features they are so useful and working quietly good in the background I nearly forget about them:
- like filters on Mastodon
I get easily disturbed from certain words and made a filter I called "slur" containing those words. Which is very helpful. Filters are even more helpful for a traumatised friend being able to filter every post about Russia and the war they started.
Which brings me to the next feature request:
- being able to filter certain languages (in the best case for all posts, too).

@tionisla @daisE@sfba.social sure, thanks! The non javascript or tui browsers should be supported, but the problem is different devs are working in different ways, so sometimes one breaks the things implemented by the other, so... more checks will be appreciated!
Thank you!

„Friendship grief (...) remains oddly invisible. Nobody teaches you how painful it feels to slowly lose access to someone who once knew your inner life intimately. Someone who understood the silences before your sentences. Someone who could identify your mood from the way you said ‘okay’. Someone who knew everything about your crushes and petty insecurities.“

Ah, that's great ☺️

@HailsandAles@metalhead.club I am a scumbag and use ko-fi because the only time I blog is when I have a "spicy opinion" and if people are going to get pissy with me I at least want to be paid for dealing with them.

@HailsandAles@metalhead.club
Well, I have a blog registered at bearblog.dev

However, as this fediverse instance/server offers to turn posts into blog post, I will use this funtionality more often and will eventually delete my bearblog (despite loving the platform and can highly recommend it).

@TishaPaints@mastodon.art
Seeing your beautiful, small size artwork, I wonder if you ever took part in the "Postcard Art Exhibit" (formerly "Twitter Art Exhibit")?

It's a great initiative that supports another charity in different countries and cities each year.

@stefano @daisE@sfba.social and a little feature request: it would be cool to have a setting to safe some bandwidth with
1. loading images in posts only after explicit requests and
2. not fetching link previews.

@stefano @daisE@sfba.social ok, here what appeared to me tonight so far:

1. without javascript I find no way to see who did favorite a post
2. with javascript it looks like my own favorite isn't counted for the part below the post (only shown with javascript) at first (but maybe later after a reload?)
3. littlefedi "unlisted" post are not showing up on the profile view (showing all activity) on mastodon - normaly unlisted on mastodon means they are not in timelines, but still able to visit on the profile page. On littelfedi it looks like it behaves more like "followers" and is not visible to anyone not following? Or on the same instance (can't test that)? Anyway, I guess "unlisted" should only exclude timelines but be viewable via mastodon on the personal profile page.
4. I don't see a button or anything to skip a post I started. If I click reply and decide afterwards not to, I don't know how to close the reply section...
5.a "Delete and re-draft" starts the question if i really like to do it twice.
5.b the original author of the thread, even deleted before, gets added.
5.c another try with deleting the original thread author leads to "request failed"
5.d a browser reload to skip leads to a browser error: "405 Method Not Allowed"
5.e a retry stays with the same error
5.f going back in the browser history till a proper result and forward again lags very long with still no result after several minutes
5.g going back to the littlefedi home and reloading that works again but shows the deleted(!) posts but skipped from their original place as standalone posts.
5.h there is no way to get easily back where those re-drafts should be or place them directly where they should belong.
5.i the should be deleted "public"(!) posts are shown on littlefedi "home" and profile three times, but only counted as one on the profile...
5.j ...but is even none at the profile visited from mastodon. Where those public marked but re-drafted posts are not shown at all.
6. same as 5.a Deleting posts asking the question if i really like to do it twice.

(All on firefox with javascript after point 2.)

Reactions from littlefedi on a sharkey post are working fine on littlefedi and sharkey, but a reaction from sharkey on a sharkey post is not shown on littlefedi..

I hope this helps. Maybe I can test more tomorrow night. Have a nice day and thank you already for this wonderful vision of littlefedi...

"Thousands"?
How many did/do you own?

@fasnix if you like agatha christie and sherlock holmes, I recommend the last book I read before the one I'm reading now, which is The complete Solar Pons

yes, I love ebooks too, but for other reasons.

  • The first one is of course that reading as fast as do, I would have to constantly transport loads of books (which is what I was doing when I was younger and I don't feel like going back to that).
  • The second is the storage. Even having switched a while a go, I still had to get rid of thousands of books when I downsized recently.
  • But the main one is probably that my sight is not what it used to be, so being able to get a bigger font is a real bonus.
  • Another nice side feature of ebooks is the build-in dictionary. As I read in plenty of languages, having a dictionary at my fingertips is really nice.

I documented the process to create dictionaries for various ereaders here:
https://francois.thunus.org/dicos.htm
the ereader page is here:
