I "Ghosted Myself" .

Information wants to be free. Information is priceless.

Somewhere between those two, cognitive dissonance becomes de-prioritized and ends up as public notebooking via online blog or social blog posts.

I stopped blogging in great detail about my unique, new-to-the-world, Labyrinth designs and its underlying Islamic Geometry math used to create them.

I simply posted the "After" photos of my Labyrinths made in Public Spaces like parks and weekend festivals, keeping the "how to" "Before" and "During" photos to myself, not sharing them online at all.

Without even noticing it, I have almost stopped posting any photos of my works anywhere.

Why?

AI Scraping of my Labyrinth and public artwork blogs.

Two plus years ago, the page views on years' old posts began to go up, from dozens to THOUSANDS per post.

Deciphering the referral traffic, and it was almost completely bots visiting my old posts.

Do I want AI Companies selling my self-taught skills as their own?

I don't know what these companies are doing with my Information.

I stopped Instagramming [sic], Mastodoning, and blogging my Labyrinth stuff.

Online, it "looks" like I haven't made any new Labyrinths in years,

Yet, In the real world, it's been a most productive time in terms of new public art created around Toronto since before the Pandemic.

I think all the way back to why I previously shut down or removed a number of personal websites.

One of those reasons was the comments from spam people/automated.

I find still feel that way now, but it is the AI scraping, in lieu of the comment spam of yesteryear.

I wonder how many other people have also "Ghosted" Themselves?

@himysyed I don't think CEOs should be making more than the laborers who do the company's actual work.

Seven times more than the lowest paid worker in the same company is more reasonable than what we have going on here in the USA, for sure, but it's still inappropriate. (Also, that issue of TIME was published in 1988. I'd bet things have gotten worse in Japan since then.) No one person in the company does so much more work than any other person in the company that they should be compensated so disproportionately.

CEOs, like politicians, should be made to live off the base wage / minimum wage. If they find that it's difficult or impossible to live (i.e., it's a struggle to pay for nutritious food, safe shelter, and quality healthcare) on that base wage, they increase the base wage. Simple.

No "chief executive" is any more indispensable than any other employee of the company. No one should be getting filthy rich while some of us (employees, citizens) struggle to live in poverty.

So that's my pledge to any company who wants to hire me as CEO:

I'll do the work of "chief executive" (namely: delegate effectively and advocate for and support our employees to the very best of my abilities) for the low cost of simply not having to stress about how I'm going to pay for food or rent or my next motherfucking visit to the doctor.

(Forgive the language 🙏 I'm mad, but not at you.)

@pluvialgeist During my teenage years, Time magazine published an issue with the cover page saying "Super Japan" as I recall.

In one of the issue's Japan focused articles, this one fact immediately caught my attention :

By tradition if not law, the Highest paid worker in any Japanese Company could only earn as much as Seven times, 7X, the lowest paid worker in that same company.

The article cited a factory floor janitor/caretaker and the General Manager's take-home pay.

I recall the article ended by contrasting that Japanese wage range with how much U.S. CEOs were paid compared to their company's workers being paid minimum wage.
