@tabby@gts.iltabellinoweb.eu yes and no; people dont back anything up ever and just assume the stuff on their phone is safe from mishaps even though we have repeated evidence to the contrary. So I'm on the fence about this... but then regular folks wouldn't back up their server either I guess if its on a Pi zero 🤔

@fasnix No, you can convert any of your posts to blog posts whenever you want to. But you can't convert a boost into a blog post. Which sounds reasonable, I think.

@fasnix Ever after gifting my daughter my perfect Grüne Erde-futon and switching to our current Emma-setup, I am dealing with lower back and neck pains. These matrasses are way too soft and look absurdly large in our bedframe. I've been meaning to get another futon again, so this is motivational. :D

"Why does it work without JavaScript?
Because a social server is infrastructure, and infrastructure should not stop working because a bundle failed to load, a browser is old, a connection is bad, or someone reads the web with scripting off. Pages are rendered on the server; JavaScript improves them and is never required by them."

Love the consideration!

However:
"Only public, top-level, non-boost posts that were explicitly marked as blog posts are published."

Does that mean that if a publish a post in the morning that gets boosted during the day, I cannot transfer it to a blog post in the evening?
I would have to make that choice right away when publishing a post?

Another step closer to release!

The official website is now live at https://littlefedi.org/ with documentation and project details.

Take a look and let me know what you think!

@casolina "all around the world" 😃

Welcome!

When I write something here, where does it go?

Good morning, #littleOne friends!

I pushed a couple of fixes - mostly in the admin interface, and now the composer will auto-collapse on threads, too. The interface should be cleaner now.

Have a great day!

Replying to @shom

@shom the idea behind the project is this: it should be a positive experience. You should be able to own your data, but still have a simple yet powerful tool do make it true.
Thank you!

Moved from Prosody to Ejabberd XMPP servers last night in my homelab... because... 🤷

Whatsapp, Discord and IRC Bridges all set up again... some tweaking with permissions I think to do yet, but the important one is set up for the family to get hold of me easily and the family group chat is on whatsapp.

Also going to set up the invites system, which was actually my main reason to change over; if I can send friends a link and make the onboarding super easy I'll have a better success rate getting them to try it.

learning #vim again, I don't remember the shortcut except :q

Hello local littleFedi bigHypers! Just wanted to put out there that the positive interactions I've seen around the project in providing feedback warms my heart. Keep being awesome I'm sure the team building it appreciates the enthusiasm and the thoughtful engagement. I guess this is a dev and user appreciation post!
Here's an appreciation flower photo from my walk today, because why not.

Too stoned for posts with smart words

I seem to remember talk of little fedi mesh something or other. I didn't totally understand it at the time but it had some of the key words i like

@snowdusk@mastodon.sdf.org I want this hashtag to pop tf off!

Big things come in small packages.. #littlefedi

I’ve been swamped with work for three weeks and can barely keep up with the Fediverse.
The littlefedi project is fantastic, and I can hardly keep pace with how fast it’s evolving. Kudos to everyone involved in this evolution—and, of course, to Signore Barista, the Direttore d'orchestra.
